Understanding keywords.
This is what the Searchers Are Looking For:-
Keyword Research is the first step to your online marketing strategy.
Researching keywords is how you will discover what people want online by finding out exactly what they search for on Google,Yahoo or Baidu.
If you know what people searched for on Yahoo, Google, and how many people are searching for any particular keyword each day, you can target your online marketing accordingly. You won't need to waste money or time chasing impossible keywords, and just focus your efforts on what will works best for your site.
Google can tell you how many people search for any particular keyword or phrase every month?
In this article we will explore how to find the right keywords, and how to include them in your marketing strategy to get more traffic to your site.
#What is a Keyword?
A Keyword, or keyword phrase, is anything people type into a search engine, whenever they are looking for a site or product online. Finding out which keywords are the most popular will help you spend your time in the right places, not trying to rank highly in the search results for something nobody searches for.
You can get started by making a list of search terms you think sum up the broad themes of your product, opportunity or website. These are your Base Keywords. They are broad, and they are likely just one or two words long. We will use these keywords, and the free Google Keyword Tool, to come up with a list of dozens and dozens of derivative keywords that will form the basis of all your search engine marketing campaigns.

Put your Base Keywords in the box, one per line, choose your target country and language, and click Search.
You will now be presented with a keyword list much larger than your original list, and you can see just how popular each keyword is in Popularity, or "search volume" is presented as a number under the Global or Local Searches columns.
Work your way down the list, making a note of all the keywords relevant to your site/business/product (because not all of them will be) and also make a note of the monthly searches number for each keyword.
We will now begin assessing each keyword for competition levels. It would waste your time to simply pick the most popular keywords and never achieve them, so we must now look for the popular keywords that we can attain highest placements possible for in search engine results pages. Start small, and build your way up.
Ideally you want to target a keyword that has less than 50,000 competing pages, at least initially.
There are hundreds of tools you can use to check the competition levels for a particular keyword but one of the easiest (and free to use) is the regular Google search box.
If you conduct a search for intitle:"your keyword phrase" you will see ONLY pages that have your keyword in the page title. This is how you can easily tell how many websites are competing for that keyword, because they have optimised their page for it.
As a general rule, if you see less than 50,000 competing pages and you decide to out-optimise the competition, you will have a good chance of making the first page and getting free visitors to your site.
Just make sure the Monthly Searches number is high enough to be worth your effort!
You will learn how to judge between the good or bad keywords the longer you do this, so don't worry if you don't see high rankings yet. Just keep at it and pay close attention to your effort and results.
~ How to Optimize a Page for a Keyword
* Include your keyword in the page title
* Include your keyword in the text of the page
* Put the keyword as an image description and alt text
* Put the keyword in the page URL (yourdomain.com/your-keyword)
* use the keyword or phrase in the page introduction in bold text
* Add Links to the page from other sites and use the keyword as the clickable text
Work your way though your keyword list, writing articles and blog posts, optimising your pages for the maximum traffic possible, and you then can generate a huge number of free visitors to your site. Your marketing can be both free and successful, but it will require proper research before you make any moves.
Invest as much time as possible in researching keywords at the beginning and it will pay off in the long many times over in free leads and sales.
